Terms

The short version: we print one word a month and mail it to you or to someone you love. Here is how the ordering works.

Where we ship, and when

The Monthly Lemma ships within the United States only, to any US mailing address. We are not able to send issues overseas.

Issues mail once a month, at the beginning of the month. Your first issue mails at the start of the month after you order, and one follows each month from there.

Plans, and why nothing renews

Both plans are single, one-time purchases. Three months brings three issues; one year brings twelve. When the run ends it simply stops: nothing renews and nothing bills again.

If you buy again later, for the same person, the issues pick up exactly where the last run left off rather than starting over.

Gifts and refunds

Because every issue is printed and mailed to order, all sales are final and we do not offer refunds. We hope that feels fair given how small and considered each order is.

If an issue arrives damaged, or goes missing in the post, that is on us. Tell us and we will reprint and resend it at no cost.

Changing an order

Need to update a delivery address, fix a spelling, or change who an issue is going to? Write to us before the next issue mails and we will take care of it.

Your details

Payment is handled by Stripe, and we never see or store your card number. We keep the name, address, email, and any gift note you give us for one reason, which is to mail the issues and write to you about them. We do not sell your information or share it beyond what it takes to print and post your issues. Your order details are never used to target ads.

To understand how people find and use the site, we use privacy-friendly analytics. When we are running an ad campaign, we also load standard conversion measurement from providers such as Google and Meta, so we can see which ads led to a visit or an order. That measurement is about website traffic, it may set cookies, and it is kept separate from your subscriber record. You can limit it through your browser settings or those providers’ own opt-out tools.
